Benzodiazepines contain a class of medications frequently prescribed for the treatment of anxiety. Common benzodiazepines include Tavor, Valium, Rivotril, and Ativan. Each of these treatments acts on the central nervous system to promote the effects of a neurotransmitter called GABA. This leads in a calming effect, reducing feelings of uneasiness.
